Top 10 things of 2010

10 – Chris drove to California at the beginning of the year. It is sad I can’t remember really for what.
9 – Chris went back east for a couple of months. This turned out to be an experience he never wants to repeat.
8 – Chris was able to drive from the East coast to the west coast in the 4-runner. He was very proud of this and was able to experience the Rockies turning into the planes. He like many others don’t understand why I like the flat lands.
7 – Chris has been working at Toyitup since August and has had the experience to travel all over Utah. I have been able to go on many of his deliveries down to Lake Powell and the more I go down the more I end up liking it. (and the colder winter gets the more I long for the summer down in Lake Powell)
6 – Going to a haunted house. I hate haunted houses and don’t even like to attend the little ones such as the ones in Price. The last time I actually went to one, I think, I was a sophomore in High School. This time we ended up going to one in Salt Lake on 13th after my sister-in-law talked me into it. Needless to say that won’t be happening again.
5 – Stayed at a cabin up in Heber with my family. It would have been nice to have Dana’s family and Chris there but it was still fun all the same. JJ brought up some of his 4-wheelers and that gave us plenty to keep us entertained.
4 – I murdered a mouse with a shovel at girl’s camp 2010. Some girls left their tent door open and they had contraband (food and soda) in the tent. Of course mice got into the tent and for a while it was mayhem. The more we tried to direct the mice out the more irritated I became. To make a long story short I caught the mouse with my hand (gloved of course) carried it to the fire pit and threw it in. Someone of course had put the fire out with water so it was not hot. However, this did not stop me I grabbed the shovel and began to hack away. After I was down with my brief lapse of crazy, I looked up. Half the girls were in shock, the other half were in awe. I then became the leader that murdered the mouse, a hero if you will. (“KT the mouse kill” is my superhero name)
3 – Chris played a role in the movie 127 Hours. Thanks to this movie we were able to go down to Moab and visit for a couple of days while he was filming. Neither of us had been there for about 9 years so it was nice. Of course Chris and a blast on the set of the movie where he was able to fly in a helicopter and meet the actors. However, he was more awed by the helicopter pilot who was the actual officer (Officer Terry) who flew the helicopter and rescued the guy this movie is based on. He loved listening to his real life stories of flying helicopters.
2 – After many, many, many years of going to school I finally graduated with my Master Degree in Criminal Justice in June. However, a couple weeks after graduating I started to miss school. I think I have a problem.
1 – Last but not least – I turned 30. Many people kept telling me it was going to be devastating. And as I predicted it was not. I love my birthday so I anticipated it was going to be another great day as my birthday always is. J

That is the end of the adventures of 2010 and we are definetly looking forward to the new adventures of 2011. One of my new years resolutions is to take more pictures so that I can document our adventures better. Also scrap booking so that I can actually have my pictures organized. I still have high school pictures to do…..

Yearly Post...... Okay maybe it's been a little longer.....

So I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted anything on this. And maybe even a little embarrassing considering that my last post was full of promises to do much better, o'well. Anyway, I guess I will go ahead and update you all on what has been happening around the Lutu house.
Last June Chris FINALLY quit his job that he didn't loathed, not because of the people but more because of the stress. Most people would think that I would be freaking out, being the sole provider now these last 9-10 months. However, I wanted him to quit his job about a year before that and in fact told him that if he didn't quit his job I was either going to kill him myself or he could find another wife. The stress and mood swings it was causing him to have was just too much for him and me. I am one of those people that strongly believe that a job should be something that you enjoy doing. Especially since it will be taking up a significant amount of your time and life. Since leaving that job he has been much happier, less stressed, and more pleasant to be around. He has been dabbling in writing (Scripts, novels, short stories, etc.), acting, and whatever else it is that interests him. This has made him considerably more happy and in someways more healthy.
These last couple months he was able to work on the weekends for a young kids acting camp held on Friday nights and Saturdays up in Lehi. He loved this job and being able to teach and be influential in young peoples lives. Last weekend was his final weekend working at the camp. When he told the kids that it was his last day there were a lot of kids that started to cry. One little girl walked out with tears running down her face while her mother was walking in. When the mother asked what was wrong the little girl, not being able to fight back the tears, said, "It's Xmas' last day." This was a little unsettling for the mother as well because she was wondering why there had been no notice. That made Chris feel good and appreciated and even though he would never admit this publicly he had a little bit of a hard time letting go too.
He has also been working on a film called 120 hours (or something) with James Franco. It is about the guy down in Moab who got his hand stuck between a rock wall and bolder in the Narrows (I think that's where it was) and ended up having to cut off his hand. Chris will be playing the part of the medic/polite. I think he is more excited about going up in a helicopter then the actual part itself. He will be finishing up that project at the end of April. During the Summer he will be working on some projects to help get funds for some other things he wants to start doing. I am hoping it works out for him and will find his niche in what he wants to do.
As for me I am still working at my same job. I will be coming up on three years in July and am still enjoying what I do. Many people look at me, strange at times when I inform them of what it is that I do. Then they tell me it must be hard, they look at me even more confused when I tell them it isn't. Is it really that hard to believe that I enjoy what I do even though it is working with Juvenile Criminal Offenders (Convicts to those who might find that difficult to decode).
I am also working on getting ready for girls camp which will be at the end of June. Being director is more enjoyable then I thought it was going to be when I first got the calling. It is something that I am looking forward too. It is ward girls camp this year and with only 12 or so girls it makes it fun and more personable.
Lastly I will finally be finishing up my Masters Degree at the beginning of June and will be glad to have that over and done with and have some free time to do nothing. After I survive June I will be working on painting the rest of my house. With the paint that I have had for over a year. Probably work more in my yard and flowerbed and spend more time with my dogs, who will not be having puppies this year. I felt that If I had puppies on top of everything else that I will be dealing with I may end up either drowning them or having a nervous breakdown. It's just a good idea all the way around. So next summer we will have puppies and maybe next time we will get a couple girls out of the litter rather than 9 boys not that they weren't adorable.
Well here's hoping that I will be able to keep up more with this blog but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. :)

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!

So it has been forever since I have written on my blog. A lot of that is because I have discovered facebook and all the people I can communicate with there. But I thought it might be nice to update this a little as well. I have just finished up another semester of school which will leave me with Autumn and Winter terms left and then I will have my Masters. I am definetly looking forward to that. In December Chris and I will be venturing to Hawaii where we will be visiting friends. Since Chris is turning 30 this year he wanted to go on a trip somewhere so we decided it was time to visit Hawaii since it has been a couple years. Nothing else has really happened lately but I will try harder to write on this page a little more often....

I punched my husband!

So Chris and I were watching comedy central the other day.  There was a comedian who said that women have the ability to make their husbands think that they're retarded.  Thus getting them to agree with whatever or believe whatever they say. One of the jokes was that women probably lay awaking looking at their husbands at night while they are sleeping, gapping mouth and snoring and think to themselves “How did I end up here with that?”  He went on to say that the women could probably punch the husband at anytime, waking the husband up, and make him believe that it didn’t happen, you know because they are retarded.  I tell you that story to tell you this story.

So the last few nights, for whatever reason, I have not been sleeping.  Finally last night I fell asleep without any problems and was enjoying my deep slumber.  Typically I am a very sound sleeper and have never assaulted my husband while sleeping.  (The same cannot be said for him)   Anyway, apparently I had turned over facing him and stretched my arm out to either slide under my pillow or his, which is something I typically do.  However, he was closer to me then I knew and being 75% asleep still I ended up punching him, at this time I was unaware of where I had punched him.  I remember lying there for a second and thinking “did I really just punch him?” (A little giggle escaped my lips)  He didn’t say anything so I figured it wasn’t that bad.

The next morning I new something was wrong because he typically kisses me goodbye when he leaves for work.  Today he didn’t.  I text him asking if he was mad at me, he said, “YES”.  I asked him “Why” and he replied by saying, “Because you punched me in the face!”  Apparently he thought that what I did was intentional.  He thought that he had been snoring and I had, had it and punched him. Thanks to Mr. Comedian this has been in the back of his head not helping my case.  Because I had been so tired I was unaware of everything that had happened.  Apparently after I had punched him and giggled he had sat up and asked me if I had just punched him?  While giggling I had told him “No” then I started to pet his head and told him to go back to bed.  So with him wide a wake and knowing exactly what had happened but not knowing that it was not intentional he became very mad.  From 1am-7am he continued to get more and more irritated.

I explained to him that if that punch had been intentional it would not have happened while I was lying down.  I would have made sure to be standing squared up with him so that I would be able to put the weight of my body into it.  I also informed him that I would defiantly do it in a well-lit area so that I would be able to see the expression on his face.  Finally, I informed him that over 6 years I have been hit, kicked, elbowed (in the face) while sleeping thanks to him. Through all this time I have never been angry with him because I knew that it was unintentional.  This was the only time I have ever done this and he couldn’t handle it.  He finally realized that I was not lying about it, being unintentional, and apologized.

This is the end of my story.  Hope it brought you a little bit of happiness.
